On August 4, 2012 a dust storm moved over our house. I finally got the photos ready using “animation” in Photoshop, a professional photographer friend, and Youtube instructions! Double-click the picture to see it full screen. There are some jpeg artifacts in the image because I had to compress it so much to make it manageable (on my screen, they are sortof circular rainbow-like things in the dust cloud).
The haboob (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/haboob) seemed very slow-moving as it came across San Domingo Wash heading Northwest toward us. This sequence of pictures took 3 minutes and 20 seconds to happen in real life.
Wow! Quite a deal!Good job!
Impressive–both the storm and the picture.
To really enlarge the picture on your computer, after you double-click, hit F11 and the picture will fill your screen.
Pretty cool, Paul! You should send a news release to the Wickenburg Sun.
